I have a 87 gt with speed density and I'm needing help. When I go to hit the gas it backfires through intake a couple times then takes off it doesn't matter if it's hot or cold. It had new plugs, wires distributor cap rotor and iac, and no vacuum leaks that I can find. I also have checked tps to make sure it's in range. Any other suggestions would be really appreciated.

It's popping through the intake.?

Or you got mad because it was popping, took the intake off, and threw it away?

Answer right in front of you and you still guessed wrong. Put the cork back onto the end of your fork and finish your applesauce.

Well I thought it was thew Tps and had no such luck. Ive checked vacuum and its good ive replaced IAC, plugs, wires, cap, fuel filter thinking there might be water trapped in system and also checked timing and its good. Any other ideas would be really appreciated

Step#1. Run the codes.

86-88 don't have a check engine light so you'd never know what's going on

I ran codes and KOEO and got code 82 and did a KOER and got cooling temp sensor out of range, 42 oxygen sensor out of range. so wondering if when i fix these issues my problem will get corrected

Did you run codes with engine hot? If not, you get a false coolant temp code.

But yes, o2 sensor and coolant sensor codes could be the issue. Popping through intake is sometimes a fuel mixture issue
