Port Match Stock Intake to 70mm EGR Possible?

I just got my 70mm TB and EGR yesterday, but i still have the stock intake. Just wondering, before i go tear it all apart, if i will be able to match the intake to the EGR spacer without problems? Just wondering how much material is there to work with? The new parts just look MUCH bigger than i had imagined... Anything i should worry about? tips? thanks

grind away! i got a 70 mm TB and spacer on a stock intake and theres plenty of material to work it, you will run into no problems. just take a nice alum cutter and hot it out, take a flap wheel and smooth it out some and your good to go.

Thanks. How far back should i grind to smooth things out? not sure what u mean by 'hot it out'. u just use a dremmel? will those cone stone's work or should i get a special bit? I'm thinking maybe one of those carbide bits with all the little teeth maybe?

these sorts of bit work the best. less teeth is good for aluminum because alum is soft and tends to clog up cutters with more teeth that are used for steel.

they way i did it, take an extra gasket, too some spray paint, sprayed it and it left a ring around the hole. grind and match the hole and then taper it down an inch or two blending it in to the rest of the intake.

or you could take a scribe and mark a line and grind to that.

with the right stuff u can do it in less than 30 mins.

and its alot easier if u take the intake off and match it

and i would use a air powered die grinder, but dremmels work also.

my stang came with a 70mm not port matched. It had a nasty wine sounded like a *** car. just got out the dermal tool not even a die grinder worked great much more power. I never had a stock TB on it so i can't say but i bet it was not much better without the grinding.

I also cleaned up all the bumps and casting marks on all the ports why not.
