Port size for ECT? 5.0

The thread on the heater tube for the ECT sensor is a 3/8" NPT fitting. The thread on the lower intake that the heater tube screws into is a 1/2" NPT fitting. If you are trying to screw your ECT sensor directly into the lower intake you will need a 1/2"-3/8" reducer fitting.

We are at a standstill now with our project because of this fitting. We trashed the heater hoses due to rust and need an adapter to put the ECT sensor directly in the heater hose port on the lower. Does anyone have a link or manufactrurer/part number for this fitting? Thanks in advance.

McMaster-Carr

You'll have to search the fittings section as I can't link directly to. Basically, they have a few 1/2npt to 3/8 not reducer bushings to choose from. But basically you'll find what you need there

Holy crap that site is overwhelming. Please excuse my stupidity, but I couldn't find it from searching or browsing.....If you can give me a part number, your next beer is on me.

That's one of many. That's a brass fitting...if you wanted stainless steel, I can dig you up one of those.

If you want to try searching, search "pipe fittings", then select material, then "hex bushings" and then scroll down and select the size " 1/2npt to 3/8npt" and it will give you a few options. I just selected your basic cheap brass reducer fitting
