So I have boxstock TrickFlow Trackheats on a 342 stroker with 14 lb Procharger. The engine makes great power but maxes at 5000 rpms. I was thinking the heads were a restriction since they are designed for NA 302's. I thought it would be a good idea to port the intake runners out to 185 and the exhaust runners out to 75 like AFRs. Stock AFR heads have 66 cc exhaust runners but they sell heads designed for boost that have 75 cc runners. This coupled with the purpose built carb and Torker II intake should give me my higher rpm power and fix my lean condition(lean condition that builds with rpm, and due to untuned/built carb). Anybody know how much port work like that would cost, or if they see something wrong with this logic let me know. I thought about getting AFR 185s but I'd have to order them with the o-ring and spring upgrade which I already have on the TrickFlows, plus it costs more for the boosted heads, so I'm cheaper off fixing my heads I have.
