Porting with dremel

I was thinking about trying some porting. I've got a 5000-30000 rpm dremel tool but which tip should I get? Does porting the heads even really help much? How about the intake? Do the heads need to be off the block to port? Im guessing yes because of the shavings. Also does anyone know of a good aluminum polish for my intake and valve covers? What kind of brush should I use to polish them? Thanks for the help guys.

The typical Dremel is too light duty to do all of the porting. It would be handy in some of the tight places.

A Sioux or Ingersol/Rand air powered die grinder is a better choice for heavy head work. See http://www.mscdirect.com/ for the die grinders & carbide bits you'll need.

An 80 grit Flapwheel for the dremel works very well for polishing iron heads.

Like said above, you'll need a high torque drill or die grinder and a carbide bit. A dremel is great for small spots but thats it...

A dremel will work fine your just gonna have to use a lot of tips...cheaper than buying a new die grinder for the job

I actually did some port matching on my upper and lower intake and it worked out quiet well but like stated it takes forever and alot of bits, mine was 12000rpm craftsman and is no longer alive after that abuse. lol

My buddy did it to his E7's witha small dremel and it was well worth it! He did a lot of reading up on it before so he had a good idea of what to grind and how to grind it.

About the only thing worth using is the 80 grit drum sander.
