so i just removed the valve cover where the rocker arm noise was and noticed that when the car is running, i have almost no oil squirting out of one of the rocker arms. i am guessing that it is something wrong with the hydraulic lifter, but dont know why it would do this. i hope that replacing that lifter could solve it, but i want to know if anyone has ideas for what may be wrong.

crane cams tech line is closed as of an hour ago, please help

its possible that the lifter is collapsed, but more likely that it is dirty. try changing the oil, using 4qts atf and one qt engine oil, and let the engine idle for about 20min, then change the oil and filter again, and see if that helps. sometimes cleaning the junk out of an engine does the trick.

I had this problem on an old 289 that I fixed by tightening up on the rocker arm and loosing it back up while the engine was running.
