Assuming that you already have upgraded to the 5x4.50 lug pattern axles, and assuming that the axle flange bolt pattern is correct, these should fit.

I suspect that this is actually the non-MII kit and recommend that you verify the axle flange bolt pattern before purchasing.

I don't have the MII axle flange bolt pattern handy. Anybody?

I have attached drawings for the Ford 8 inch (non-MII) axle flange and the later 7.7/8.8 inch axle flange (Fox Mustang).

It would be great to have a drawing of the MII axle flange with dimensions.

I wonder if there is enough extra material on the flange adapters supplied with this kit to redrill for the MII axle flange pattern? I guess you could purchase and take them to a machinist if they don't fit...

Never got around to it.

I've seen people post they wallered out the holes with a drill bit to make the adapters "fit" (Beat to fit, paint to match) so I suspect the loles would need filled before being redrilled to fit.

i was thinking along the lines that it might be a universal type kit. as we have seen may times parts companies often show the same pic of the parts for multiple cars and even multiple brands.

i would think if you want to spend the money on the kit, you could then use the bracket as a template to create your own or have a machine shop create one to match the mII housing pattern.

I think that this kit would make a good 'generic' starting point for a MII 5-lug 8inch rear. But anyone that buys it should be prepared for a little machine work.

I want to keep my 4-lug axles (dare to be different!), so I need to hit the local pick-a-part and look for old Escort GT's, '80's T-Bird Turbo's, or newer Contour/Cougars. I believe that all had 4x4.25 lug patterns and had rear disc brakes available on some models.

If I gather enough parts and brackets I should be able to cobble together something. The main trouble will be to find a rotor that leaves room on the wheel side for the caliper, a mounting bracket that mates to the axle without excessive spacers, and calipers with provisions for emergency brake cables.

That's the one I needed!

Flange patterns from the drawings:

8 inch pattern: 3.3125" x 2.00" Bore = 2.835"


7.5/8.8 pattern: 3.375" x 1.6875"
Bottom bolts: 3.0625"
Bore = 2.844"


MII 8 inch pattern: 3 3/8" x 1 11/16"
Bottom bolts: 3 1/16"
Bore = not noted

The problem is that after converting to decimals, the MII 8" axle flange pattern is the same as that of the 7.5"/8.8" axle housings. Does that sound right?

I can compare my Ranger 8.8 and MII 6.75" when I get time, but it may be a while.

If this is right then the TSM caliper adapter is the one that I need...or one from any Fox rear axle rear disc kit...

Your fraction to decimal conversion is correct but I don't know anything about the Fox body rearends so I can't really comment on that.

The dimensions on the page I linked (Mustang II) differ slightly from what I actually measured using a digital caliper on my own car.

I have rear disc brake brackets with Wilwood calipers on my car right now based on these dimensions: Mustang II Axle Housing End Flange Dimensions

feeble, do you have any info on your conversion posted on the site? when the new garage is complete, i would like to tackle a front and rear disc upgrade.

I have nothing posted on my website on my brake conversion but there are some forum posts on Mustangii.net that cover some of it.

When I get my parking brakes with new rear caliper bracket squared away I'll probably write something up.
