I've ran across a 94 cougar with a 4.6 in it that I can get real cheap. I was wondering if there is any demends for this motor at all. The front of the car decided to take a bath and sat in some water for a few mins, but I havent pulled the dip stick yet to see if there is any water in it. I'm not sure how deep the car was. Anyway I have access to the whole drivetrain from motor to IRS rear (I think it has IRS). If I pull the motor is there any chance as selling it as a "rebuildable" motor and having anyone buy it. I know very little about the Mod motors so any help would be nice. Thanks

IMO, the 4.6L hasnt made it to pushrod engine block status. People will find a low compression Poncho 455 and build it into a monster. You dont see that with the 4.6L because of the absurd pricing on internal parts. While the block itself will allow you to bolt on some of the parts being used today, I dont think its a desireable motor. The heads and cam setup is not that of a 96 GT. You can try and sell it, but i think it will be hard to sell for a high profit

Not looking for a high profit, I just dont want it to sit in my garage forever. I can get the motor (for that matter the drivetrain) for probaly 50 bucks. I was just wondering if it was worth my time or effort or not. I guess I'll still pull it, who knows maybe one day someone will be restoring a 94 cougar and want number matching motors...it's a long shot. I might try to get rid of the IRS at a FFR cobra site. Is that tranny a AODE? Thanks
