Possible Vacuum Leak?

Hey all,

Wondering if this sounds like a vacuum leak to anyone. Car idles fine. Sometimes during braking (hard or regular) the cars rpm tends to drop to the point where the car might stall. It doesn't do anything If I'm idling and i press the brakes. It also doesn't do it when I'm in gear and coming to a stop. Only if I'm getting out of gear and then braking.

Any ideas? I appreciate it

It includes how to dump the computer codes quickly and simply as one of the first steps. I continue to update it as more people post fixes or ask questions. You can post questions to that sticky and have your name and idle problem recognized. The guys with original problems and fixes get their posts added to the main fix.

Potential signs of a failing VSS.


What year is this car? Is it by any chance an 87-88 that was converted to mass air? Was the VSS installed and wiring run to the computer?

It's a 89. I brought it to a shop. I had 2 vacuum leaks that were fixed. My mechanic also suggested to replace the egr amd sensor because he dumped the codes. It is fixed now.
