So the car completion is...yet again...on hold. Bothersome, but with me moving across the country in 6 days, I had to put it off and concentrate on other details.
So I picked up a 16 foot lowboy open car hauler, about 2 weeks ago, for a relatively normal price (I'm in Canada, our prices are always a bit higher)
It was used, found on local craiglist advertisements, but it turns out it IS a dealership, er...a guy that gets cars from the auction and sells'em. I go to the place, trailer is really nice, shop looks semi reputable, and the ad has stated "New everything, new rims, tires, bearings, seals, everything"
All goes well, I buy it for 3500 dollars, tax man grabs an extra 500. So I'm out 4 grand, and I've got a really classy looking trailer.
Get home....day 5, I take a look at the tires, one has a MASSIVE bulge in it, about to blow at any time. I call the dealership, answering machine, no call back.
Next day, I call again, answering machine, no call back.
This happened for 6 days, so I went out and bought a new tire. Brought it back to the shop to mount it, and that's when I realized that these so called "New Tires" are absolutely NOT new. New tire tread is at 9/32 whereas all 4 tires currently on the trailer are at 4/32 inch
Each tire will cost me 155 bucks, I know this because that's what I payed for the first new one I bought.
My question is....
How do I go about nailing this guy to a wall without stepping on my own toes or overstepping my boundaries?
He obviously knew what he was selling, and I know I should have checked out the tires on the first day, but, to be honest, they looked fine, until I saw what a new one looked like beside the old ones.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated,
