I know I know. They are in the box in my basement...uh helping the box keep from flexing.

I inquired with one shop, and they were just going to put the car up on a 2-post lift and weld them in and "they do them all like that and they come out fine". Needless to say, they are uninstalled for a reason

They are actually late 80's VW Jetta GTI/GLI Mk 2 Recaros. I found a set for sale locally, and then rebuilt them myself.

Here's what they originally looked like. Lower foam side bolsters were trash, one seat's lower spring diaphragm was broken and a few cig burns. I imported new foam and other parts from Europe and restored them over the winter.

And how they look today mounted in the car with Recaro sliders and Planted technology seat brackets. The photo above is outdated as I was running the dark grey inserts from the above seat coverings. I just swapped to the light gray inserts this past weekend.

Very comfortable and sit nice and low.

Thanks

I got all the leather parts from https://www.redlinegoods.com/

I have their shift and e-brake boots along with center armrest and door armrest leather covers as well.

Finally got a nice day on Sunday. Got the car out for a day long ride and some pictures. By far the best running foxbody I have owned.

Bought a new bumper cover today from Facebook marketplace for $40. I like the stock look over what I had with the cobra insert. The only thing is the one I just bought has the holes in the front which are growing on me, didn't like it at first. (didn't bolt anything in yet, the driver side fender or the cover)

I'm not sure why someone put holes there. I was debating on filling them in. But maybe this will give me more airflow to the radiator.

The air would have to flow over the bumper underneath.

Curious.

I'll walk you through a patching procedure if you want them gone. Let me know.

For now I took out the bumper (dont know if that's a good idea) because I saw it through the holes. But I will let you know! Thanks again.

After all this time I'm finally getting a proper "hot street" alignment at a local race shop.
