Now don't go crazy in your descriptions, but list whatever is relavent to mileage. Here is an example:

1970 Mach 1 M Code (351C-4V) Mild CAM, long tube headers, 5-speed Tremec, 670 Holley Avenger = 13-15 MPG (not including road trips)

1965 Convertible (top is always down) 302-2V with a C4 auto, 2.73 gears, duel exhaust, factory manifolds. Recently rebuilt to stock = 15-18 MPG

I am really curious about EFI on a classic mustang motor.....

67 302 with pretty much stock internals, Edelbrock Performer intake, Edelbrock 600cfm 4bbl carb w/electric choke, Headers, dual exhaust, plain ol' automatic tranny,
During the winter I was getting around 13mpg, but I was also having problems with the timing and it was cold so I'd have to let it warm up . Got that fixed this spring and as long as I'm really religious about sticking to the speed limit, I can get 16mpg, otherwise I get around 15 (that's a combo of city/highway).

'68 coupe, 308 w/ roller rockers, stock ported heads, performer cam and intake, Edelbrock 600 cfm carb, c4 - 13 city, 18 highway.

'88 GT convertible, 331 w/ ported GT-40 heads and intake, 19# injectors, T5 - 20 city, 26 highway (400 HP)

Sometimes daily driver (9 months a year when not carpooling or adding parts) 66 Ford Mustang with 440,000 miles on the chassis, 100K on the engine, 1997 5.0L and stock 1991 HO cam with Performer heads, 1.7 Cobra roller rockers, Torker 289 small single plane intake, Autolite 4100 480CFM carb and 4 hole PCV spacer, cast iron HiPo exhaust manifolds, T5-Z with 3.40:1 rear. Other mods include Pertronix Ignitor II billet distributor, advanced 14* and all in by 2500RPM, windage tray, and electric fan. Decent performer with dyno of 220 ft-lb RW torque@3850RPM (95% of peak from 2000 to 4800) and peak power of 200RWHP at 5450 (95% of peak from 4400 to 5500). Weight savings from heads, intake and composite monoleaf springs (Flex-a-form) more than compensate for the heavy factory A/C.:nice:

Average 16-18MPG in town (last fill-up was 18.7MPG), 24-26 on highway with 10% Ethanol regular gasoline. I need to rebuild the carb and optimize my tune and am shooting for 20 town, 30 (or more) highway just to say I did it.:D When not hypermiling and when the A/C is on, I get 14-16MPG town, 20-25MPG highway. It is possible to get good mileage without resorting to EFI, but maybe someday I'll break down and "upgrade". :p Driving habits and overdrive helps with mileage, as does manual steering and brakes. My poor aerodynamics and wide tires hinder it.

nice looking car...what rear gear are you running with that 5 speed?

Thanks for the compliment. I have a 3.40:1 trac-lock from a Mustang II in my 8". Good compromise between performance and cruising. 1 through 5th is 7.6MPH, 11.5MPH, 16.6MPH, 22.4MPH and 35.4MPH/1000RPM. Cruise at 60MPH is 1700RPM. Gotta love the overdrive! :nice:

1965 Mustang with a 1968 302 (mild cam, headers, 2.5" exhaust w/H-pipe and dual Flowmaster 40's, Zirgo electric fan, 600 cfm Edelbrock carb, Edelbrock Performer 289 intake, K&N filter, and a Toploader 4-speed.) If I'm really nice to it I can muster out 16-18 mpg but I seem to have a problem keeping my foot out of it.:D

My 66, when it had a C4 in it (everything else the same), would get 17 mpg at 65mph on the freeway. Never calculated overall (didnt' really need to know how bad the city mileage was, and slightly afraid fo the answer).

My 89 Cadillac Seville has gotten 19.2 (mixed city and highway commute, random daily stuff, etc) over the last few months and with the wind at its back can get 25-26 on the freeway at speeds in the low 70s in cruise control. Which is not bad at all for a heavy 20 year old GM beater with a V8 that has 200,000 miles on it.

i've always wondered what a 65-66 with a roller 5.0, T-5, 8" with 3.00 or less rear gears, EFI, good ignition, basic performance aluminum heads/intake (stock cam, tb, fuel injectors etc though), low profile tires, slightly stiffer/lowered suspension, etc (basically everything that could be done to enhance gas mileage) could get. Think it'd crack 30 freeway?

doubt it! unless you run a 4100 and a 5speed. I have a 2:79 and the best I see is like I said MAYBE 17.....which I have a c4 and an autolite 2 barrel which is notorious for poor miles. Still I haven't figured the combo ....but don't really care either. ON the road? well she doesn't see that much driving.:)

i think it's totally doable with the right combo of parts, though i don't think low profile tires necessarily fit in there, depends on tire diameter and don't forget that larger wheels actually have more mass which will hurt mileage

In my 1966 6cyl C4, 260k+ miles
100% city driving, 18-22 mpg. I don't drive it on the freeway often.

2001 GT auto 93k+ miles, average 19-21 in city.
On a road trip 310.4 miles on one tank, 75% hwy, I got my best of 24.3 mpg.

Both cars stock.
