I might trade my 1968 AMC Javelin for this car....any input would be appreciated....

have a 1965 Ford ( sorry ) Mustang 2+2 ( fastback ). It was originally a "C code" 289 2V car with a 4-speed and 2.80 ( open ) gears. It is Wimbeton white with an ivy gold interior. It's build date is January 20, 1965 so it is a pre-GT and pre-deluxe( pony ) interior ( these options were not available until April, 1965 ) car and so it it is neither.

I purchased it from the original owner in 1994 when I still lived in Calfornia. He has since assumed room temperature I have been told.

The interior is all original and needs redone ( but no means wasted inside ), the car has been repainted twice ( once blue then back to white ) and needs repainting again ( not that it looks BAD now, but it was a poorly done repaint ) and has a small dent on the passenger side 1/4 panel ( easily fixed ).

The front and rear suspensions have been completely rebuilt with all new parts and polyeurethane bushings. The front springs are Moroso drag springs ( I have a set of 620lb/in coils that also lower the front of the car 2" ), the shocks are Competition Engineering adjustable ( 90/10, 70/30, 60/40 ) but I also have a set of Koni's. The front sway bar is a Stam Bar 1" with heim-joint links and of course polyeurethane bushings. The power steering ram and control valve are rebuilt and have never leaked. Yet. The front brakes are the factory ( and very rare ) 11.3" disc brakes with ARP wheel-studs ( $10 EACH !!!! ), rebuilt 4-piston calipers, turned rotors, new pads and new brake hoses.

The rear springs are 5-leaf "stock ride height" that actually raise the rear of the car about an inch ( I also have a set of 4 1/2 leaf 2" drop rear leafs ) with polyeurethane bushings. The rear sway bar is also a Stam Bar 5/8" unit with heim-links and polyeurethane bushings. Rear shocks are some cheap Car-Quest gas shocks.

The rear-end is a 1977 Lincoln Versailles unit with new 10.5" rotors, rebuilt calipers, new pads, new hoses ( all 3 ), new steel brake lines and 4.11 gears with a fresh rebuilt traction-loc ( posi ) differential. I also have the stock 8" rear axle assembly with fresh turned drums, new shoes, all new hardware, new wheel cylinders and a 3.40 geared open centersection. I also still have the original 2.80 geared ( open ) center section.

New radiator, new heater core, new heater blower motor, all new seals in the heater box, new defroster plenum and hoses, new battery tray ( old one was pitted ), all new wiring harnesses in the engine compartment and lights, new dual-resevoir brake master cylinder, new heavy duty custom driveshaft, two different new exhaust systems with Flowmaster mufflers ( full-length for the 302 and dumps for the 351w ), relined original fuel tank, 3/8" fuel pickup and 5/16" return line, 3/8" fuel line up to the engine compartment, Holley "Blue" fuel pump and regulator

When I first got this car running, I used a EFI 5.0 engine and AOD automatic transmission out of a wrecked 1993 Mustang GT ( you might have seen my car in the Emerald Torque Converters magazine ads in several different magazines back in 1995 and 1996. Aparently they still use the pictures of it in their current ads out in CA ), I spent some time playing with this combination before moving on to a EFI 351 Windsor in place of the 5.0, then after burning up several thousand dollars worth of AOD's I put a 4-speed toploader back in the car behind the 351w. Before pulling the 351w out I converted to to carburation in an attempt to improve my quarter mile times. I wound up selling the toploader and buying a Tremec TKO, but like in a AMC, it WON'T FIT.....

The wheels and tires are 15x7 1994 Mustang V6 "tri-bar" aluminum wheels ( VERY light wheels ) and Firestone Firehawk SS10 235/60/15 rear and 215/60/15 tires on the front.

There is one spot on the floorpan about the size of a dime that is rusted, the body is also rust free except a little around the small dent on the passenger side. I weighed this car back when it had the EFI 5.0, AOD and 8" rear axle and it weighed 2990lbs

So now this car sits in my garage up on jackstands with no motor or transmission in it. Barely 3000 miles have passed underneath it since I purchased it back in 1994
