Been out of Mustangs for over a decade and really considering getting another for a weekend toy. I ran across a Teal/Leather 93 for sale here locally with 102k miles. Guy claims he's the 3rd owner and dumped a bunch of money into it recently (fresh paint, misc. weatherstrip, headliner, exhaust, gears, radiator, headlights, etc) i.e. within the past 2 years.

Pictures look like its in good shape, but it almost sounds too good to be true. He's asking $15k. Even with all the work done, is that too much for a >100k mi car with mods and no factory parts to replace or does that not typically matter?

I've only ever owned an 87GT vert and a 91LX coupe, so all the Cobra shopping is new to me.

I'm looking for a weekend hobby car and a fair weather driver, potentially even something to do the Power Tour in. I plan to mod it a little, but not much, and anything I replace I would be keeping the factory part.

It all looks pretty nice to me. Except for that Never Start battery.

As far as price, I wouldn't know what a Cobra sells for now, or what they're worth. In the end, it's what you're willing to pay for it.

Looks clean in the pics. Ultimately, it comes down to the condition in person. Shock towers and torque boxes look good? No rust ir for, needs very little?

If it's clean, someone will scoop it up. $15k is in the ballpark

If the paint is as good as the factory, $15k isn't too crazy.

Only thing to me about fresh paint, is that it can hide a lot demons if it's in an area of the country where roads are salted in the winter. But it's a 24 year old car that has been driven an average 4,200 miles a year. So I'd say it has the probability of only ever seen fair weather roads for the most part.
