I honestly didn't know that powder coating could do that. I think that looks pretty damned good, especially given the price.

There are lots of companies that have powdered black chrome, I was going to buy a beginner kit from eastwood and do my own powdercoating ($189.99).

Elite HotCoat Powder Coating Kit - Stainless Steel Wire - Powder Coating Handbook - Eastwood

Then buy a three step black chrome wheel package powder kit from Powder FX or Powder buy the pound.

INTRODUCTORY WHEEL SYSTEM - products new home - Black Chrome Alloy Wheel Package

Powder Buy The Pound

Then make some extra dough doing your friends powdercoating lol.

I'm not much on black rims, but some cars look really good with them. You have any pics of your car with the rims you are thinking of getting done?

The black chrome looks way better then just regular black wheels. Looks like he does real good work.

Black Chrome is actually a darkened clear coat powder that is sprayed over a chrome or polished substrate. What you have to watch out for is that if the chrome is flaking prior to coating the powder will flake also.
