I'm in the middle of a complete front end overhaul, new suspension, brakes etc. I'm doing the granada disk brake swap. I was thinking of powdercoating the splindles, caliper brackets, and duct shields black. I'm looking for oppinions on what other guys are doing? Are they're any other front end parts I should consider doing also?

Any feedback? Thanks.

Powder coating will work, but its somewhat brittle and the parts you are talking about apart form the dustsheilds, have alot of areas (ball joint holes, threads, spindle areas, caliper contact surfaces) that you wouldn't want to have powder coat on or in.

Por 15 might be easier / cheaper.

Powder coaters vary about how good they are about masking, but make sure you or them properly mask the parts.

Will the Por15 hold up as well/better than powdercoating? Where is the best place to buy it? I'm undecided on black or a silver metal color? The original spindles weren't black were they?

I think the spindles where just natural. Just have them media blasted and then clear coated.

I agree! POR15 works great. I painted all paintable areas under my 66 last summer, no chipping, no pealing and of course no rust. Plan on doing all
underside sheetmetal this summer.

I always get it from www.por15.com

I think it would be atleast as durable as powdercoating in that particular application.

I was thinking about painting most if not all of the parts with either break or engine paint. It should be tough enough to survive; with por15 I think you should apply paint over it anyway.

Por15 only needs to be top coated if it is going to be exposed to UV, Otherwise it is fine as it is.

Check the POR15.com website. Call them and ask for local distributors in your area. The locals have POR in stock and you don't have to pay for shipping or wait for the package to arrive. When I called there were 4 in the SoCal area.
