I know power braking has to be bad for your rear breaks, but how bad does it wear the pads and rotors if say u would do it to start a burn out and if you keep the brakes on to stay in place while doing a burn out?

you can save your rear brake pads by getting a "linelock" or "roll control" kit. You can check these out at www.summitracing.com. Prices are around $130 or so

I have a 00 GT and have done roughly 20+ brake stands in the car in the past 4 years. For 3 months now, I've had a squeeking noise in the rear end when the roads are wet or after a car wash. Took the car into Ford for a check-up, and they showed me my rear calipers and rotors. The rear calipers were ceased and both of the rotors looked bad. So now I have to buy new calipers. I would highly recommend getting Line-Loc. For the price of that compared to the price of new calipers and/or rotors, you can't go wrong.

I would say that the reason they say the kit wil work for both front or rear wheels, is for people who want the kit for their front wheel drive cars. As far as I know, the kit is not vehicle specific.

Good Luck

I dont get it, lets see if your slowing down, your wheels are turning while holding brake right, well burning out is the same thing! Why would it be any worse?

because its harsher because the wheels arent slowing down, thus they heat up MUCH faster and can glaze the brakes over and make then useless

Linelock ???

How does the linelock effect the antilock brake setup? Do you bypass the antilock or is it still functional after installing the linelock???

I have linelock on my 68 Superbee, but that's a totally different animal compared to the modular Stang.

Thanks,

CeeJay
