Power Door locks install

Hey guy,
Need some advise. I finally got door locks in the mustang. But I need to fish the wire from the door to the cab. Any ideas where I can get a tube like grommet that can go from the door, to the cab?

Try these steps, it should work fine
Step 1

Remove the two Phillips screws in the armrest. Remove the screw in the front of the inside door handle holding the plastic cover on in front of the handle. Remove the triangular cover on the inside of the outside door mirror. This is held in with plastic snaps so just pry it off with the common screwdriver. Insert the common screwdriver in between the door panel and the door and pry the trim fasteners from the door. Slide the screwdriver around all three sides, and when contacting a fastener, pry it up and out of the door. Swing the bottom of the door panel out slightly and lift up to free the top of the door panel from the ledge.

Step 2

Unplug the electrical connector from the master window switch. Unplug the connector for the power door locks. Unplug the electrical connector for the bottom rear marker light.

Step 3

Remove the water shield from the door by carefully pulling it away from the door. This will expose the access hole in the door.

Step 4

Remove the actuating rod from the power door lock actuator to the door latch. The power door lock actuator is attached below the door latch and against the back latch side of the door. The rod can be seen running from the actuator straight up to the door latch and is held on with a plastic retainer. Use the needle nose pliers to unsnap the retainer and remove the rod by pulling it out of the retainer.

Step 5

Disconnect the electrical connector to the power door lock actuator close to the actuator. Remove the door lock actuator by twisting it from side to side and lift it up. The actuator sits in a bracket with two sides shaped like a U. The actuator has two posts with rubber grommets around them. It is just pressed or snapped into the bracket.

Step 6

Replace the actuator and remaining parts in reverse order of removal.

Ah, Thanks but I was just looking for a grommet.

I'd go to the local wrecking yard and look for something in the right length. I have power locks too, but just used regular flex tube without the nice grommets. Never drive in the rain.

I am assuming you want to get power to the locks....painless wiring makes door jamb contacts, from one wire all the way up to like 6 wire I think. Anyway, they look great, work good, the only drawback is that when the door is open, there is no power to the door locks, but lets be honest, the only time you need the door locks to work is when the door is closed.

You could just go to a junk yard and find some easy. Any car with power windows or locks would have something of this kind in the jamb.
