I did a search and couldn't find anything to help. I have power at the door lock switch but no power getting to the actuators. I removed the left actuator and I can jumper it at the battery and it works. The power windows and mirrors do work. I have a Haynes manual but the diagrams are beyond use other than being used as coarse toilet paper.:D Any ideas on what to look for ? Possibly a relay ?

*Edit*
Sig added (I think). The car belongs to my son but I do most of the repairs for him because he doesn't always have the time. ;)

What year car? The wiring changed in 91 for a number of system in the Mustang. That's why it is a good idea to use the sig under the user control panel (User CP) option. It allows you to post your car year & mods, which help greatly when troubleshooting things. No, it is not there for us to snoop and see any "Secrets" you have hidden away under the hood. Be a good stangnetter and update you sig for future reference & don't keep us guessing.

your contacs within the switch itself are bad or corroded replace switch or you can attempt to take switch apart and clean contacs. i had a ford windstar do this and i was able to take switch apart and under the button you push to activate actuator was a set of contacs i cleaned them with some sandpaper reinstalled switch and it worked great but some switches are sealed in this case you will have to find a new switch i would call some junkyards or do an e- bay search.good luck.

There are three wires on the back of the switch, I get 12v to ground on one wire (at the back of the switch not at the actuator connector) for lock and 12v to ground on the other wire for unlock. Therefore I do think the switch is good. By the way, it's a 93 LX. The hatch release is not working also. Tomorrow I'll do some more checking after I get back from the tire shop.

If the windows are working, you can swap out the switches temporarily to test them. They are the same basic switch, but one has a round plastic pin to locate it, the other a "L" shaped pin. I just cut the locating pin off one of my old window switches with wire cutters when I needed another lock switch. If the switches are OK, then it could be in the wiring between the doors. I know if one side is not connected to the other, neither side will work. They both have to be connected properly to work with the switches. And you can take the switches apart to clean them. I've done that too.

Good luck!
