Ok folks I've got a question, I'm hoping someone can help out. My steering rack is leaking on my 92 5.0 GT. The hard line that runs from the steering box to the front of the rack is leaking. Has anyone ever seen this line leak? It's leaking at the steering box. Short of pulling the rack out I couldn't see real good what is in the way. Especially with the fluid all over the place. Is there a diaphram right at the box, that could be leaking? Has anyone else had a leak in that spot?

spray it down with brake cleaner an see if the fitting is leaking or if the line is rusted through. may have to change the line. lucas power steering treatment may slow it down enough to live with.

there is an o ring on that line it problably took a crap replace it with a viton one it will last longer

Do any of the parts stores carry The Viton brand stuff?

Most likely what punisher said..the o ring under the fitting may have gone bad but I did change a friends a little while back where the line had a small hole in the bend before the rack..clean it and check it out..not that hard to do..rack comes down real eask from under neath car as well...
