I am trying to figure out if putting a kb 2.1l on my 96 gt, if i'm either going to blow the bottem end out or the tranny first, if either at all. I do have mods done the list is as follows:
PI heads and Intake
Spec stage II clutch
K&N fipk
acufab 75mm tb
Magnaflow Cated H pipe
And a handful of other small stuff.

I had it dyno'd a couple months back and it made right arround 270hp and 307tq at the wheels with a bad universal and a slipping clutch. Thanks.

if your car was stock i wouldn't say that but with those PI heads you're probably running around 10:1 compression, not exactly blower friendly

6psi maybe but 9 is pushing it

I was thinking only 7psi, and what would you recomend head wise to go with that would go with the kb setup?

Also i heard somewhere that the stock bottem end can hold 450hp or so is there any truth to that?

the heads are fine (and pretty much your only choice), it's the pistons you need to change

also 450hp sounds about right maybe a little more, but 400rwhp, what you should be thinking about, is usually the safety mark. anymore than that is pushing it for the stock internals

Thanks for the info. I've been searching for a while and either no one else puts it online or i'm one of a handful of people who actually are putting money into a 96 gt.

Also if i were to change the pistons to a more blower friendly setup would i still blow the bottem and out or would i need to get a new crank, what i'm really trying to get too is how much hp/tq can the stock block handle?

you'll want fully forged internals. the pistons, rods and crank

once you have forged internals lets just say the block itself is the last thing you'll need to worry about
