I've been doin some readin around and all and it seems to me many people are power shifting. Also I see some really strong 1/4 mile times. My question is it that much of a diffrence powershifting. Today i done it once (still have stock shifter) from first to second and it went more smooth than I thought and the car actually lurched forward instead of back then forward so definitly seems worth couple tenths in the quarter. Now I really think that a 9.05 in the 1/8th Granny shifting is a pretty good number. I'm really thinkin if i powershifted 2nd and 3rd might have been able to pull off a high 8.8 to 8.9. Also are these tremec 3650 good trannies to powershift without worryin bout breakin crap. Thanks fellas

if you power shift, have money saved up for a new clutch.

Powershifting is good. Get a heavy duty clutch kit and a Pro 5.0 shifter.

Pro 5.0 is in the Mail as we speak should be here by end of week. and only have 3g's on car so clutch should last a decent amount of time with minimal track time

When you power shift don't your RPMs hit the rev limiter?

Let's not forget how the T-5 and T 45 stock tranny's are not all that strong and werent really made to powershift. Definetly a good idea to have a short throw and good clutch like centerforce, I hear the king cobra's are garbage so might wanna stay away from them.

Can anyone answer the question of these Trannies, Are they durable enough to handle it??? I dont a broken Tranny. Definitly not worried bout the shifting part I have that very well down. I just dont want to hurt my tranny doin this for a tenth or two

Take this with a grain of salt because I have never power shifted a car nor do I plan to. But, my understanding is the tranny should be fine if you powershift correctly. However, one missed or screwed up shift and you MIGHT end up with a bent shift fork or worse.
