Power Shifting: Rev Limiter w/Supercharger

Me and a friend were talking about power shifting and I was telling him how I should really avoid it. He asked why and I (being a nub) said "because of the supercharger and the rev limiter." Then he goes, "well, what kind of rev limiter to do you have? a spark limiter?" I said, "no, a fuel cutoff." and his response was " ... THAT'S ummm cute?...". Basically he made me feel like Ford (again) let me down.

I've bounced the rev limited 2x since having the blower but nothing went boom yet, but this now intimidates me to shift at like 5,000. :notnice:

Am I wrong in the assumption that whilst powershifting if not done right (me having done it) and you powershift too late you'll bounce the revlimiter and if you detonate too much you'll go kablooey?

even the cobras have a fuel cut limiter. I personally have never heard of it actually doing damage only theories as to why it might. I personally beleive it is not as bad as most people think, since it does not create a lean condition, it creates a no fuel condition. Kenne Bell reccommends against raising or removing the rev lmiter in their tuning notes, so if it were a problem I would think they would know.

Nope... many were under the impression that it 'reduced' fuel going into the cylinders. It does NOT. It cuts the fuel. Best kind of rev limiter you can have for a blower. Cutting/reducing spark can actually cause a backfire. I'm no genius but I doubt that many blowers would take kindly to that sort of treatment. hehe

You've convinced me to keep trying to improve my powershifting :hail2:

Correct,

Even if the fuel was cut in the middle of an injector spraying, once the a/f ratio goes too lean it will no longer combust.

yay! it's gunna be a fun ride home!

The real question is to why your missing and hitting the revlimiter.
Are you tring to shift at the same point ever time?
I know I've found in my old age I have to powershift on the spray at 5900 in order to aviod the 6200 revlimiter.
