How many of you have to granny shift from 1st to 2nd? I've noticed when I power shift my back tires spin enough to make the rear end sway a little. I'm shifting at 5k since I've read anything higher is pointless. Should I wind it out a little more to stop the spin or just save up for tires? I can only imagine what it would be like with gears.

just try and control it, wait untill you need to change your tires to upgrade, unless you are taking it to the strip often

When I had my 245 kumhos and a couple bolt ons(no gears, I would nuke them like crazy in first, 80-90% in second and chirp third hard. Went to 315's Dr and no spin at all in first. Next I got my novi 2k on there with longtubes and 4.10's and traction problems have resurfaced.

This might sound stupid, but how do you guys catch third? First gear it's hard to not spin, and I will catch second occasionally, but third....no way. Is there a trick to your method of shifting or what is the deal? Sorry, didn't mean to hi-jack the thread.

with stock tires, it's fairly easy to chirp fourth . . .

I don't get any sound going into third. The car just lurches forward when I let out the clutch. It's not near as bad as it was before the control arms though.

ya get wheelspin from 1st to second (shifting at 5500 RPM), and i chirp then in third. this isn't the best way to shift, cause you'll lose some time in the 1/4. any suggestions to eliminate this?
