Power Steering fluid for 87 GT???

Anybody know what type of fluid i need for my 87 GT?

ATF I use mobil 1 synthetic

yeah but i mean is there like a part number or a specification number i need to know?
I bought some motomaster fluid that says it complies with a ford specs...
know anything about that?

Get 4 bottles of ATF mobile 1, drain your tranny and refill with it, then use the left over on your PS pump..just a thought if you haven't changed tranny fluid in a while.

My 1989 Ford Mustang car shop manual says to use Type-F ATF.
When I flushed out my power steering system I refilled it with Valvoline Synpower power steering fluid mainly because it contains seal conditioners and a stop leak which I figured would be of benefit to my original rack and pinion and pump.

yeah, i think Type F is the specified fluid, but if a synthetic meets requirements, i say go for it, as D said.

i used Redline in mine. good luck.
