Hello all. I normally post over in the 4.6 section, but today I find myself with a question about a 94 GT.

The power steering pump pulley bolt (whew, a mouthful) has somehow worked its way out and is now gone from my granddad's 94 GT. How it happened, we don't have a clue, and nothing seems to be wrong. We just noticed the pulley wobbling a bit and investigated, and found the problem before things got too bad.

Here's the problem: we can't seem to find the size of the bolt. I've seen in a few pictures that it's definitely a specialty type bolt, but we were hoping that it might be a common size/thread pattern that we could just pick up at the local Advance. I have looked over all the forums I'm on, several parts store's websites, and the main Ford parts website, and I can't seem to find this bolt anywhere. My brother (who is actually the one working on the car; I'm the tech help from 100 miles away ) is going to the dealership later this afternoon, but we aren't expecting much help from them.

Any of you guys have any advice or knowledge on this particular bolt?

Thanks in advance!

The power steering pulley doesn't use a bolt to hold it on, it is pressed onto the shaft

Hmm, that's weird. I don't doubt that you are correct, but he said that there was a bolt hole for it.

They are going to talk to the previous owner of the car (who built the car, and also is a mechanic and has his own shop) later this afternoon; that should be a source of good information.

the bolt hole is for the tool to remove and press on the pulley back on to the pump

Sounds like you need to remove it and press it back on properly. But yeah, the threaded hole you see is for the remover/installer tools. No bolts stay in there.

+5 of whatever I am, there's no bolt holding the pulley on the pump, it's pressed on.
