Power steering ?'s

if i remove my power steering pump completely....do i need to do anything to bleed the system, or is it a self bleeding system??
How do i drain out the rack and pinion of the fluid??
How much fluid does it take to fill the whole system up??

 Why are you taking off the p/s pump. Are you deleting it? What? If so you should go to a manual rack. The turn ratio is different for a power rack as compared to a manual. The p/s system holds between 2-3 pints.

Yes, it is a self bleeding system, if you want to put on a new pump, it is no big deal. If you want to flush, just cap off the return line (the soft line on the bottom) and have one person pour in fluid while another person turns the steering wheel back and forth. I would recomend this when replacing any steering parts, we do at the shop where I work.

im not taking it off permanately, i'm removing my a/c because the compressor seized up and im need to relocate my power steering pump. the pump is really dirty and it looks like there is a leak at the bottom line connection.

when you say cap off the return line, you mean take it off the pump, some one plug the end of the line and pour fresh fluid in??
