I own a 2002 mustang automatic.

Today was like anyother day I went to work and at the end of the day I went home and when i pulled in i realized that my driverside window wouldnt go up. All the other windows in the car went up and down and worked fine, however my driverside wouldnt do anything- it was like it was dead- you could'nt hear the mechnisim or the window motor. The only thing you can hear is a clicking noise coming from under the dash below the steering wheel whenever you pressed on the driverside window button.

Please can any help me??

try holding the button down and slam the door. motors seizing is faily common on these cars

do you know how to remove the door panel? might have to do some electrical fault tracing if it still doesn't work

For some reason Ford window motors get a wild hair and stay in the down position, find a mid size rubber Ford wrench (hammer) and rap on the bottom of the door directly under the motor (don't bend the sheetmetal, that's why the hammer is rubber) about 9 times out of 10, it will cause the motor to free up and work. However, you are not out of the woods yet, you will still have to replace the motor because it will, at the worst possible time, do it again. This will just get you out of a jam right now. It's not just Mustangs, my F150 did the same thing.

My GT did that a time or two. Shutting the door hard while holding the switch in the "up" position worked and so did giving the panel a solid thumpwith my hand while holding the button.

The mach is never that simple. My driver side window likes to stop working when it gets too hot, like when its 95* out and 110* in the car and you really want to put the window down. Soon as it cools off like at night it starts working again. A new switch has been ordered lol.

Yeah I paid the dealer a lot of money to fix it. Before I was mechanically inclined. Its a conspiracy for you to buy window motors.

My '02 GT has done this a few times. Tapping on the bottom of the door, and slamming the door, as previously stated, have both helped for me in the past. One other option is to take the door panel off, remove the bolts for the motor enough to disengage it from the window, hit the switch to roll the window up or down, and then put it back together. They get dead spots that cause them to do this once a week and then nothing for a year...odd. The only preventative solution I've heard of was to not roll the window all the way down; just leaving it at least an 1/8" up from the bottom. I don't personally like the window in my arm, but not everyone sticks thier arm out so it may work.
