I have a 66 mustang and was interested in putting power windows in it. I know they make kits and everything but I was wondering if there was anyway I could use the motors from another car? Maybe something I could pick up at a junk yard? I can make brackets and everything? If this is possible and you have an idea how, too could you maybe give a little explanation. Thank you very much.

IIRC jbuening is doing it to his 70 with junkyard parts. After rebuilding a few power window motors, I pretty much figured out what you'd have to do. The motors I worked on had a bolt on adapter plate to bolt them to the regulator, and if you switched the head-plate out, you could use the same motor for lots of different apps. You;d need to build an adapeter plate between the motor and stock vintage mustang regualtor.
From there it would be simple, use the 80s GM truck switches for a vintage look (CHEAP new!) The motors are really cheap at the local yard, usually under $30.

No, I did a power lock conversion with parts from a 82 Thunderbird. I did put the window switches in the column though while I was fabricating anyway. I hope to have power windows someday, and I now have the switches.

Yeah i've been slacking with that conversion. All this wedding crap has eaten up all my mustang time 
What i have is a spare front regulator and i popped the rivets off that holds the shaft that the crank handle slides on. The other end of that shaft has the gear that rolls the window up. Once that is removed, it is simply making up a bracket to mount the motor to the regulator. I bought a pair of fox body window motors on ebay for $10 and the teeth/gear mesh up nicely to the stock regulator. I have some pics of the stock 69/70 cougar power window regulators w/motors and am trying to mimic that same design. Hopefully i'll get around to that mod and mount the motor to the regulator so you guys can have a writeup on it 
I'm just not a fan of the $300 or so pricetag that comes with a pair of regulators and motors from ElectricLife. But then again, i'm using used parts and the ElectricLife ones are all new. Depends on your budget i guess. I also plan on using SN95 window switches and recessing them into my stock console plate. It should look pretty sweet when i'm done. I'll probably be placing tweeters in the holes where the crank handle once was. Until this wedding is over I'm stuck reading about you guys working on the cars while i'm at work and dreaming about what i could be doing crapola . She does the planning while i work crazy hours to pay for it
