I really love the Powered by Ford emblems on the 2007 Shelby GT. I've seen a couple on e-bay and I know of one company selling them -- for about $200 per pair.
Anyone know of a place to get these for a realistic price?
I thought parts for production cars, which the 2007 Shelby GT is, had to be available for a certain number of years. Doesn 't that mean the emblems should be available at some point from Ford?
Will anyone reproduce these emblems at a reasonable cost?
Thoughts???

You aren't going to find them any cheaper. Somehow a company got ahold of a few sets of them (less than 100 I believe) and sold them pretty cheaply. They were nabbed up within a few hours, and the ones that didn't make it on to a car are sitting on ebay right now. Shelby, at this time, refuses to sell the piece to the masses, to cut down on clones.

What can I say? Those who know would never mistake a true Shelby GT because of the emblem. Won't Ford have to have access to these?

Definitely nowhere near the same quality as those on the Shelby, but...$24.95 each.

Uh-oh... How is V. Barbarino going to accomplish his goal of building a Shelby GT for $2700???

Better watch out for trolls trying to steal my emblems.....

They are darned sexy, but $200???? Gee.
Looks like maintaining a Shelby GT could be expensive if you can manage to buy the car in the first place.

Welcome Back Kotter has been pretty active lately, hasn't he?

If you own a Shelby GT and something happened to the emblem, I'm sure providing your official Shelby ownership papers would suffice to get replacements, granted that you didn't have multiple claims.

Devils's advocate....

Yes, they're beautiful but isn't it a bit redundant? We already know its a Ford. That's the reason I wont buy a plenum cover.

did anyone ever take note there isn't one blue oval on these stangs. i find it ironic, and a bit of poor marketing. grant it i don't want blue ovals every where i turn but i think one discrete blue oval is expected

I think Ford's marketing people are asleep at the wheel. Ford does need to be on the vehicles somewhere.
And I don't see the reason to keep tight control over the supply of these emblems. These emblems promote Ford, not Shelby.

Everyone knows the Mustang is a Ford, and everyone knows it's a Mustang when they see it. Except for the pony in the grill and on the windshield, it doesn't have any Mustang designation either. It does say Ford on the fake gas cap. Ford didn't need to put their name all over it. It's an icon that's unmistakably recognizable.

Just a little piece of retro history...

These were on the Shelby's & Cobras in the day.

Had "Powered by Ford" valve covers on my old 351...

I think they look pretty spiffy.

My factory 17" Bullitts had the Ford oval on the center caps. The 18" fanblades I got have the tribar pony center caps. I bought rubber floormats for mine which have the Ford oval on them. I'm glad they didn't plaster "Ford" "Mustang" everywhere! I'm also glad they stopped stamping the name in the rear bumper as well.

Actually, I just realized that..

But honestly, how many people see a Mustang on the road and say, "Hey, look at the FORD Mustang!"?

Like someone else said, Mustangs are instantly recognizable as an American icon..

Oh, the Shelby's have the blue oval on the emlems.. also an oval logo on the strut brace..

+1
Big smooth panels are always better/easier than nooks and crannies!
However now for me it's no easy task removing the wax around the pony fender emblems. I sit there for a minute or 2 each with cotton swabs and get in those nooks and crannies...They look killer, so it's WELL worth it!
