How about a tutorial on the basics of drag racing for the newbies from some of the experienced fellas. You know stuff like how to burnout (or not to do one) how to stage, how to launch, shift and so forth. What do y'all think?

I think it's a good idea considering I've never ran at the track yet. I've been to the track as a spectator several times, so I understand the basics.

I think that you have the beginnings of an awesome idea here!

Here's the difference between a blog and thread:

In a thread, you might as for advice, get opinions, and engage in conversation about the topic.

In a blog, you would GO DO IT and report the entire experience, talk about what you tried, what worked, what didn't, and what you think you might like to try next time.

I think this is an OUTSTANDING idea!

I think you guys could help us start figuring out a way to use the Resource Manager that is part of the Forums already. It could really be a blog/topic post and then have a related discussion thread. For every category we use you can actually have custom variable options and such to go with it...

Custom layouts for books:

Attached Reference Materials

The beginning of a Mustang Wiki

We are open to ideas.

That's not the same thing as what I was thinking about when I read 90's post. That one there is more of a how-to.

A blog from someone who's never been to the track before or had been very little... You know... talk about the EXPERIENCE of doing it and not just the "how".

Who the f is Brian!? What I'm talking about is not a blog so much just something that a guy can see something in BIG BOLD LETTERS that says something like learn to drive here. A place that a couple guys give some tips on the basics and not have to do a search for Brian.

Brian is the guy that posted a link that you clearly didn't read. Think there's even some bold for you

No, I clearly didn't, he lost me at 12 sec recipe and that's my point exactly. Take Brian's segment on the how to part and make a sticky. Take out all the you need this part and that part to achieve X. I think it'd be more beneficial to the reader and to the site as a whole if it was "dumbed down" to where a guy could go out there and safely and run his or her car to the best of its ability whether it be an 11 second or a 17 second pass. The reason I believe it would help the site is because I believe it would draw more traffic. It'd give the avg Joe w the avg Joe work in progress 14 second monster the confidence to get out there and give it a try. PS: name dropping and bringing up the that's old hat line is counter productive to site growth. I've only been lurking around here a little while and I'm starting to notice new faces. Everyone searches out this site for knowledge and stays for the company. Give us some knwolege old schoolers!
