powertrax

any of u guys have the no-slip powertrax installed? if so what do u think of it?

i found it at schucks for $395 (which is 10-20 bucks cheaper than online) and then my military discount brings it down more :)

I have an 8.8 31 spline Powertrax Lockrite installed in an open carrier if interested. Also have a set of 4.56 gears. I havent ran them but looking at the website they are pretty sweet. If one wheel is on ice the other will still pull. Not too noisy either. Send me an email if intersted.

To switch over to 31 spline in your case you need a 31 spline c clip diff (trac lok, powertrax, Auburn,) and the 31 spline axles. When doing 31 spline conversion on a fox this would be the time to upgrade to 5 lug and rear disc but you are already there. Not sure if you can get aftermarket axles with the antiloc tone ring on it though. Your cobra should have antiloc.

i just got the powertrax no-slip for my 8.8 28 spline for 50% off! i paid $200 for it brand new! YAY!! i cant wait to see this thing in action!
where? and whats the difference between a FordRacing 4.30 and powertrax? Oh and you can get a 31 splined kit for pretty cheap

the powertrax has nothing to do with the gear ratio. it takes place of the limited slip diff inside. it locks your axle for maximum torque to the wheels. the problem is that it causes oversteer when u go around corners. i recently did more homework and found out that it is more of a pain than a gain LOL! i decided to take it back to schucks and if u want it bobby, its there (on pacific near the base) for $200 in the performance section.
instead i just picked up the K&N FIPK 2 kit for the cobra and its pretty awesome. it woke my stang up and it has a nice sounding idle now. i think it gave me 10hp :)

I kinda thought thats what it did you can get the same effect by welding your spider gears together my DAD use to do rearends he tried to show me how to put a 3.73 unit in my 92 camero but it was way to much for my 17yr old brain
