You need to read the KB document thoroughly and do not confuse 'gear ratio' with 'superchharger gear ratio'.

What they say is that 3.73 gears are the best gears for your mustang if you want to optimize your 1/4 mile ET.

In the 2nd sentence they say that you should not overspin your supercharger. The superchargers gear ratio should not be higher than 3.0 if you are going to stick with the stock rev limiter of 6k.

This 'supercharger gear ratio' is calculate by 'crank pulley size' divided by 'super charger pulley size'. By changing the pulley size you will change the boost level. So in essence what KB is saying is that 18000 rpm on the 1.7L supercharger is 14psi.

Yes...I've read that piece.

IMO...it's worded as such to say "buy our charger because you don't need gears like other blower set ups".

That piece is contradictory...it says don't go over 18,000 max...but the stock 3:27 x 6000rpms = 19,620...so what's the point? That tells me you're going over with the stock set up. Does KB want you to drop down to 2:73s??? I doubt it...also mentioned that 3:73s are the best gear for the 4.6...3:73 x 6000 = 22,380. WTF??????

KB said I wouldn't need to upgrage my stock fuel pump either...first dyno run...she bucked under boost...KB would suggest a tuning issue or a vacuum leak...we swapped in a new high flow pump...no more bucking. I was also told not to go with the CAI that I went with and to buy their CAI. My set up works just fine and produces good power (we gained more rwhp than KB did). I was also told I wouldn't need a custom tune...but I didn't want to get into the mail order game.

I'm not suggesting that they don't know their stuff (far from it)...but I read every page of that site 10 times over, before purchasing...and there's definitely areas that are more "sell" than fact.

It make sense to me...KB wants everyone to understand that their piece, while considerably more expensive at first glance, is actually pretty efficient versus it's competition when you compare all the stuff you would need with a competitor's set up to get similar performance.

At least thats the way I read it.

Which goes back to my original point...rear end gears will not overspin your supercharger...but running an 18# pulley on a lung designed to max out with 14# will overspin it.

I am running 6psi and have had no problems. Stock clutch, rearend, tranny. I never drop the clutcy in 1st becase you would just sit there. If your foot hits the floor in 1st you are smoking the tires and hitting the rev limiter. I do power shift 2nd and 3rd quite a bit though, clutch is still hanging in there. I am running stock gears and have my hands full, I would try w/out gears and then when you start getting comfortable (wanting more) get the gears and fell all giddy again.

Going to the track the 25th of May in Kansas City (~6:00pm) if anyone in the area is interested. Have a couple stangs, WS6's.

Absolutely!! KB should not mix up the two gear ratios in the same paragraph of the document. It causes too much confusion.

I am glad someone cleared this up, what was said did not make any sense at all. Good job

Those Brembo brakes look very nice and for $1,300 they better stop my car on a DIME! I am going to seriously consider all of this though.

$1300?, I just saw them for $899 at www.buyfordmotorsport.com

Yeah, it al depends on what you will be using your car for(daily driver, drag, road race, auto X) Definitely exhaust and suspension. After the blower install, maybe some cams.

WHere do you see that? All I see for $899 is the 2000 Cobra 'R' Front Brake Kit. The $1,300 I quoted for for the Brembo kit.

Yes, it definitely says Brembo on it. I have done quite a bit of research on this already =).
