I have a 1973 Mustang Grande, I just changed the master cylinder out and re-buult the back breaks. The brake pedal still touches almost to the floorboard. Will bleeding the brakes stop this pedal play? or is there a bigger problem brewing in the lines?

The mechanical adjustments must be made first. Make sure you adjust the rear brake adjuster so that the shoes are firm agaisnt the drum then back it off until the shoes barely drag on the drum. Now bleed the brakes starting at the right rear and working your way around the car. That should give you a lot more brake pedal......unless you got the wrong master cylinder.

Is is power breaks? if they are Isn't there some adjustment at the master cylinder rod, within the booster that could cause this condition?
