I just finished building a 347, go to put the flywheel clutch and pressure plate on and the pressure plate bolt pattern is wrong. The pattern on the pressure plate is 1/4" bigger than the pattern on the flywheel. I am using a centerforce pressure plate lm361675 (http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=CTF-LM361675&N=700+0&autoview=sku) And a ram aluminum flywheel 2527 (http://store.summitracing.com/egnse...se&Ntk=KeywordSearch&DDS=1&N=700+115&x=26&y=7) According to summits website these parts should be compatible they are both 10.5". What gives? Any help would be greatly appriciated. chris

Looking thru the application chart on Summit's site, I'd bet you've got an 11" pressure plate there for a 164 tooth flywheel.

The pressure plate reads to be "10.4/264mm".
Sounds metric to me...
The flywheel reads to be the old standard "10.5 inch".

.1" is enough difference that it won't work.

the new flywheel bolt pattern is the same as the old 5.0 flywheel. The new flywheel even has metric threads. damn the torpedos!!!! All the local speed shops are closed I guess the engine doesnt go in today!!!!!

The 5.0 157 tooth 50 oz stock flywheels all have metric threads. Similar in size to a 5/16" bolt. You need grade 8 or 9 for this though. These bolts are not a "speed shop " only item. We've got a local welding shop that stocks these in their store. Might try Low's or Home Depot too.

That's an 11" Long style, that's not likely the one he needs to fit his flywheel either. The P/P he linked to was a Diaphram style that I bet is an 11" based on the application chart it lists, all the Ford applications are types that used a 164 tooth flywheel.

the bolt patern is the same on both the flywheel and the pressure plate, its just the the patern is 5/16" larger on the pressure plate. When the pp is lined up I see a little less than half the bolt hole throught the hole in the pp.
