Hey fellas. I want some input into this if you can.. Thanx..

These are the mods I'm about to have done.

70mm TB
Porting of stock plenum to match TB (I was gonna buy one to match but the shop said that porting it would be sufficient)
Larger fuel injectors (not sure what size yet. This was a suggestion by the shop)
Dyno tuned and computer calibration
Price: $1400

I can install the TB myself actually and the plenum too if I go with purchasing a new one I think.. Is this difficult? It doesn't look like it.

Also:
Gears $320.00(includes gears and installation)(The shop suggested 3.73's because they said I'd be redlining at 70mph with 4.10's ?).. This goes against everything I've read here.. Please inform.

Pullies $150 for install because I've already purchased them.

Now my question is this.. How does this sound to you all in terms of price? I'm also really wondering about porting the plenum as opposed to buying one that matches the size of the TB. Let me know soon.. Thanx in advance...

Dyno tuned and computer calibration $1400

No way dude. WAY TOO much for that!! I have a S/C and I paid $250 for a dynotune from one of the best there is. Look to pay about $500 to include chip and dynotune.

The price for gear install sounds about right, go with that, but where are they getting that you redline @ 70mph? People can redline at 70mph if they have the stock gears, but they just need to shift into 4th, lol. Makes no sense at all, since there are people racing at the track with 4.30's and higher that I guarantee are trapping faster than 70mph. Go with the 3.73's in you plan on adding a power adder, 4.10's if not.

You don't really need bigger fuel injectors since you aren't getting really high numbers with those mods you mentioned so I would skip on that. Put that money towards a timing adjuster or save it since your timing can be advanced via the chip.

Also, look no more than about $70 for a pulley install, they quoted you too high on that.

i think you should be able to do the TB, plenum, and pullies yourself. the dyno tune sounds waaaaay too expensive though. and the gears..well heres a site to check out for RPM's and MPH for different gears. clicky
