I am doing some shopping around to deside which shop, if i decide not to do the work my self, to use for some installation. Just wondering what you all have payed or think is reasonable.

4.10 gears installed = $550 ( how hard is this really ? )
Custom tune on my predator= $300 ( i already have the tuner)

Haven't got a quote yet but also need shock/struts installed. what is a reasonable price.

Should i just do it all my self, i have done all the other work so far on my car. Installed 13" brake kit, installed mid-pipe/catback. Lowering spring ( most likely do my own shocks and struts)..... Any opinions are welcome.

Thanks

gear installs require "special tools" and the knowledge of what the values mean

its not just put the **** in and seal it back up

the shocks and struts are the easiest thing to do

idk how youre gunna pull off a custom tune

If you do pay someone to install your gears, do your homework first. Find a good reputable shop that will guarantee their work. Also go with the Ford Racing gearset. Your installer will thank you!

do the suspension yourself. they are extremely simple. as for the gears have it dont by a peputable shop because if the install isnt just right the rear end will howl like a mofo.

well i think it is quite apparent that i am not going to "custom tune it my self" but i can use my programer and Wide band o2 to tune it myself. my questoin is more is $300 a good price to tune a mildly modded car.
