Which is better for drag racing? The MGW doesn't feel like I can shift as good as I did in my old 03gt and 87lx I had pro5.0's in them. Just woundering if its me or does someone else feel the same way. thanks.

For drag racing I have heard the Pro-5.0 is better.

I have an MGW and it is a huge improvment over the stocker when slamming gears, but there may be better shifters for drag racing out there.

Well I'll try the Pro5.0 then. My buddy bought one for his cobra and we found something wrong with his car. The shifter would hit the body and would vibrate really bad so I think I'll try it and see what happens.

MGW here. Since i've bought it, i have yet to miss a shift while racing. The nuetral gate is so tight it's hard not to. I love it

Well I got the pro5.0 installed and it is a lot different than the MGW. The MGW is made alot better and alot tighter than the pro5.0. But I am going to drive it for a couple of days and run it at the dragstrip and see if there is any difference in the shifts and if I can get any quicker times with it. I also like the adj. handle better on the MGW. But I do think the MGW is alot better quality.

At least give the MGW a week or so of actual driving. Not a lot of people like the MGW at first since it's a different feel. I didn't like it at first either, but now I love it and would buy another one in a heartbeat. You just gotta get used to the short nuetral gate and shorter throws

Ok I drove the car today and I like the way the pro5.0 shifts. It is smoother and not as notchy as the MGW. But I like the adjustability of the MGW better. So if I could have a pro5.0 with an adj. handle that would be what I want. BTW I have had my MGW in for 9k miles and it still feels the same.

Is there another handle that I can get for the pro5.0 that is closer to the d/s?

hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha thats happened with me on my mgw just cause it got out of adjustment from slamming gears and not having the adjustment screws tight but now its fixed and its all good.

I love my mgw man awesome shifter.

Well I have been driving for a couple of days now with the Pro5.0 shifter in and I do like it better as far as quick shifts. I am able to shift it alot better than the MGW. I didn't get to go to the strip this week but I hope it won't rain next week so I can go and see if there is a difference in times. But I do still think the MGW shifter is a Excellent quality shifter and is an excellent everyday shifter. But if you want to have a racing shifter I think the Pro5.0 is the best for that.
