installed a pro 5.0 shifter today but lost the instructions. when adjusting the stop bolts, how much should i back off the nut after it touches the shifter handle. thanks

The shifter should hit the stop, but then be slightly off the stop when it's at rest with your hand off it........so just back it off a little bit.
Back it off one full-turn when the car is in gear and when it is resting against the stop. That is when you back it off a turn. If the car pops out of gear in 4th for example...pop the cover back off and back the nut another half turn until the popping out stops.
