Traction control and clutch switch wiring for 2 step and no lift shift schematic

The clutch switch has two connectors. The rear most black connector for the starter circuit with the R/B wires in it, and another clear / white connector facing the firewall which is no longer used with the stand alone.

The old wires were in pairs. So to keep the same arrangement I soldered each pair together like they are in the connector. Then shrink wrapped and zip tied it to the new clutch pigtail.

I soldered new leads to the old pins. I wired one lead of the connector to key on switched 12v (yellow wire) and the other lead to the brown wire labled clutch switch on the PCM optional wire bundle in the passenger kick panel. Note Orientation of wire colors. This shouldn't matter as it's a simple two wire make or break circuit but I found an image online of the actual plug and play harness so I made mine the same.

Made a nice little harmess for it and ran it to the passenger kick panel.

This is the brown wire in the kick panel that sends the signal to the PCM. Its labled clutch switch.

Adding fuel pressure differential sensor and adapter:

The kit is no longer available. If you have a ProM EMS and want to add the PSID sensor setup you can use the parts in the image below.

-Ford CM-5208
-Trick Flow TFS-5188000S
-The adapter requires -8AN ORB O-ring fittings
-Fittings to connect to your fuel system

Go to the sensor section and enable it, then go into the injector slope section and enable PSID compensation.

This will also enable the low fuel pressure warning system. Unfortunately the value is not user adjustable, but if it drops below a predetermined level it will turn on the CEL and set a code.

I'm using this sensor and it works perfectly with no modifications to connectors or wiring. Plug and play .
 
Wiring in Zeitronox wideband.

If anyone gets a used ProM EMS and it's set up for Zeitronix wideband controller the correct wiring is below. It's not in the instructions anywhere, even if you ordered it direct from them this way. So this might be helpful to someome. Took me a while to figure it out. I can confirm it is correct.


ProM Red ---> ZT4 Red
ProM Black ---->ZT4 Black
ProM Purple---->ZT4 White (Left/Drivers side)
ProM Yellow---->ZT4 Grey (Right/Passenger side)

Here's the two harnesses that have to be spliced together.

The EMS needs to be ordered with a wideband controller setup. It's not user editable. So whatever the system was ordered with is what you need to use. It could be changed by ProM but they are out of business. So that's not an option. This wiring is only if your kit was originally ordered and set up for Zeitronix.

For unknown reasons that part of the tune is restricted and can't be entered or editied by the user.

ProM crank trigger sensor replacement

If you have a system set up for a crank trigger and the sensor fails, it's a Standard Motor Products PC483. It will require small modifications to make it fit the bracket. It will need to have two holes to attach to the bracket. It will come with one hole and one locating tab. The tab needs to be cut off flush, centerpunched and drilled out to accommodate a bolt.

It's magnetic so tape it up good to avoid contamination of metallic dust. Also magnets can be permanently degaussed and damaged by dropping or shocking. So be gentle with it when center punching / drilling / cutting.

If anyone finds this looking for info on how to set up a ProM EFI for a MAP sensor, here's what you need.

The MAP is option for the engine management, but without any support it takes some detective work to figure it out which one to get and how to make sure it's wired correctly so I don't damage anything.

ProM states the PCM is calibrated to run on a 3 bar MAP sensor. There are lots of different style sensors and I don't know exactly which one they specced to sell for the kit. I did some digging and found an old instructional video that had a brief image of the sensor. I screen shot it and did some shopping. The closest one I could find is a Holley 554-107.

It's not plug and play. The connectors are different. So I need to change the plug and also wire it correctly. It did come with a.... cough cough.... GM style weather pack connector and pins, so I'll crimp and solder them in.

This is a 3 wire 0v-5v sensor. So one wire will be 5v refrence, one wire is ground, and the third will be the signal to the PCM of what the sensor is actually reading. To figure what wire is what on the vehicle side I enabled the sensor in the tune so it's active and will send power to it. Then with the key on I check for power and ground at the plug.

Grey Ground
Brown
Orange 5v

This tells me the brown wire is the signal wire. So I did some research and found the wiring details for the Holley sensor. The MAP sensor has lettered terminals A,B,C. Holley states:
A Ground
B Signal
C 5V Reference

This is the wiring schematic I found for a TermX using this sensor. The wire colors and PCM pin numbers are all different of course but it links the pins A,B,C to the function.
A18 – Sensor Ground
A23 – MAP Sensor Signal
A26 – Sensor +5V Reference Out

So I wired up the new vehicle side plug.
A Grey
B Brown
C Orange

To test for proper function:

With the sensor electrically connected and the key on engine off I checked the barometric reading in the software and compared it to a local barometric tracker. Its reading properly.

Then I hooked up my hand held vacuum pump and applied vacuum and pressure to the sensor and watched the fluctuations in the variables of the tune. It's tracking my hand pump and working correctly.
