well this might be a stupid question but just how exactly does this work?

Do you shift the regular H pattern or shift straight up or down please explain.

Also is this streetable and by that I mean can I drive it on cruise nights and around town at night not stop and go rush hour.

Thanks in advance

There are several different methods of Pro-shifting. My TKO is Pro-shifted by Liberty. They remove the synchronizers and weld pro rings on the gears. Then they use custom sliders or sometimes modify your stock ones. You shift in the same pattern it's just that the higher the rpm, the smoother it is. I had problems for years with my old synchronized TKO not going into gear at high rpm so powershifting was out of the question. I dropped 4 tenths with the pro-shifted trans and haven't missed a shift since. As far as street driving, it's very clunky. It slams into gear at lower rpms and sounds like you're breaking it. High rpm powershifts are perfectly smooth though. Downshifting can be done by double clutching into all gears except 1st. I have to come to a stop with mine to get it into 1st. I kept my 5th gear since I run on the street some but some say you can drop another two tenths by having it removed.

Still use the clutch with these models.. Liberty can proshift a T5 for a couple hundred bucks... or look into the new G-Force T5 which are supposed to be the new hot ticket..

Well I shift at 7,600. If you're down around 6,500 to 7,000 rpm shift points I wouldn't go Pro-shifted. You can powershift a synchronized tranny somewhat consistantly at that rpm. Streetability depends on how much you want to put up with. Like I said, it's very clunky and if I drove mine on the street alot I would think twice.
