Alright, i searched around, and couldnt find anything like my problem, so here goes
The Pro5.0 shifter i bought came packed full of grease, and i installed it like that.
After installing it, my transmission slowly started poping out of 2nd gear more and more, and i figured it was time for a rebuild. Today, i pulled out the shifter and found that all the grease was gone. It had i guess melted down to more of a liquid, then seeped past the plastic bushing on the buttom of the shifter, down into the transmission. My question is could that grease damage the transmission? i dont want to rebuild it, put the shifter back on, and start having problems with it again =/

no the grease wont hurt it but your problem is more than likely the 2nd gear shift stop adjustment back the stop bolt out you can read about adjustment in the paperwork that came with the shifter if you still have it....or repost if you don't know what i'm talking about and me or someone else will explain....

nah i kno that 2nd is shot, i took the stop bolt out and took it for a drive, it still pops outta 2nd, but usually only on downshifts. with a 116k on it, im not surprised, i kno the previous owner beat the $*#*)(@ outta the car. Thanks for the tip about the grease tho, it kinda worried me.
