Probably a dumb question about mufflers / catbacks.

Was wondering if I could keep my 2.25" entry/exit Flow 40 mufflers but have them widen the entry/exit to 2.5" for my 2.5" catback. Would that work?

Get the whole package so you have a perfect fit. Try not to cut corners.

Nah, not really looking at a full catback, I can get the same **** made for much cheaper with fine fittings. Was just wondering if shops are able to do that so I wouldn't have to buy new mufflers. I will bring the midpipe to the shop and they're going to make me the 2.5" pipes from midpipe back.

im sure if you are gettin a muffler shop to make you tailpipes they wont be mandrel bent over the axel, i think they use a crush bender and the diameter of the pipe isnt a consitant 2 1/2'' therefore i belive you will not pick up many if ANY HP

They are mandrel bent. He does excellent work. He's done setups for many very high HP race cars and NASCAR sprint cars.
