Hey everyone. We had some good rain for a few hours this afternoon and I went to take the car to get dinner. It was still raining out, and I got in the car and the belt pulled out really easily. Of course, I then realized that the belt itself was soaked with water. :notnice: There is no problem on the passenger side. This happened once last summer, but it hasn't happened again till tonight. All I can think of is standing water in the body shell by the retractor that may cause rust someday until I fix this issue. Where should I look first for a leak? Has anyone else had this happen to them? Any help would be great.

Is your Mustang a convertible? If it's not, then I don't know how water could have got into the seat belt retractor unless you left the driver's side window wide open.

you may want to pull the side scoop off and make sure its sealed behind there. Its only held in by clips. I kow for a fact that water can get in that way.

Water leaks are no fun. Pull off the b pillar and see if you see a water trail. Hit it with some water and loo for a leak. If you do not see anything drop the headliner a little and and look for leaks, sometime the water roll along the headliner and drips down.
