problem w/ friends gt

alright, my friend is having a problem with his 2000 gt. we have no idea what it is. sometimes when he starts his car up in the morning it wont stay running if he just lets it idle. and every once in a while you get a strong smell of gas inside the car and a lot of white smoke from the tail pipes>>not sure if thats just because its cold. any suggestions are appreciated. thanks

with my car at one point the engine would start but it wouldn't idle...turned out the IAC was messed up and had to be replaced...i dunno if its the same thing or not.

Same here...the IAC is one thing that will cause it not to idle. You can clean it but is only a temporary fix.

alright, thanks guys...ill let him know and see if that helps...but what about the gas smell...hes thinking it might be a cracked fuel injector...but he doesnt know that much about cars...and i havent had a chance to look at it.
