I know most rub, but I can't get my lower shaft back into the steering wheel shaft, the lower hits on the header so bad, it's about 1/2 - 3/4 inch to short to put the bolt back in.. Any ideas??? tony

Make sure that the motor is sitting all the way down were the motor mounts to. Sometime the motro does not go all the way back down. I had to use a big crow bar to do this.
That sounds like a smart thing to check on. If that dont cut it, then mark it carefully where it rubs and ding the tube in a little until it clears. I have watched my dad heat the tube with a torch and "squash" it a bit with a big pair of channel locks. A small dent wont hurt anything. I would be pissed if they are coated and send them back, marked where they dont fit.
I don't think a ding will help. The mounts are all the way down and tightened. thank you though.... great everthing I have done on this car has been dificult.... Getting really tired of it!

I had clearance with my BBK's, and first I've heard of problems with them. I'd look elsewhere for the solution.

Is it possible to run the steering shaft though the tubes? Just trying to throw an idea out there
the mounts are brand new energy mounts, not sure I could fit the shaft through the header.... I'm looking into the flaming river shaft?? someone emailed me about it.....thanks guys
I( will check the mount positions again, and then call them if I can't get it.. Just really sucks, I finally got it running and can't drive it.......

had the same problem at first............. motor mouts were shot and the engine was mounted low in the craddle and twisted. Got new mounts and raised it up in the cradle until it didnt hit and bolted it up why waste money on a steering shaft?
I took the steering column back out (loose) pushed it through the firewall abit more, put in the bolt on the shaft, tighnened it up and then put the steering column back, still rubs a little but not enough to complain about, thank you guys, I just couldn't get it in with the steering column in......

Be careful, I've heard horror stories about standin on the gas and the motor moving enough to freeze the steering.
