Recently I have experienced a problem with my '86 Mustang GT. It has on occasion had a momentary ignition cut-off. This lasts only for a fraction of a second. Occasionally it has failed to start in the morning. It also has an erratic idle speed once it has warmed up. I replaced the ignition control module (Motorcraft DY425) (mounted on the side of the distributor) and a known good ECM with no improvement observed. Has anyone experienced this problem?

Trouble shooting the above ignition problem I found the cause of the cut-off. I replaced the pickup module (Motorcraft DU30C) (located inside the distributor) and this eliminated the observed problem.
