I just got my car back from the dealership and my stereo will not work. I blew my engine so they replaced it with a new one, and thats all they did. I asked ford on the spot what the problem was and they told me it had to do with something with chip reconfiguration.... and they refused to fix it. I was wondering if any of you guys would know how to fix this problem.

I have 3 planet audio amps
jvc el kameleon headunit
4- infinity kappa perfects (speakers)
2- 8inch solobaric L7s....

Did you check the fuses for your headunit? They might have blown a fuse accidently. Check the fuse box for the radio, if that is good then check the one behind your head unit. Most aftermarket HU's ususally have an inline fuse so check that too. I am assuming that the HU is not turning on. If that doesn't work hit us back.

maybe his power wire is grounding out? i was thinking maybe when tey did the swap, they crimped, or cut the wire.

hopefully they didnt 'Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me' up your amp, but i would recheck the power wire to the amp to make sure somehow its not shorting or something. Also, check to make sure the ground is tight and nothing came lose. I know this might sound stupid, but are the ground and power reversed some how? Did they have to remove it and then put it back in?

usually protection circuits protect the amp from:
1) reverse polarity- hooking power to ground and vice versa
2) short circuit
3) thermal protection
4) DC Protection

So if everything is tight. Try this.
Check for short circuits on the speak leds
Turn the volume down on the HU then turn the amp off then back on and see if that helps
Finally, try unhooking the speaker leds and then turn the amp on.... if the light goes out, then something is messed up internally with your amp.
Also, check to see if there is a reset switch sometimes. If there is and resetting it doesnt work with the speakers unconnected then something is definitely broke.

hopefully ford didnt f#ck something up.

gooodluck
