Problem with the car running lean

I bought a used 95 gt vert (AODE) a couple of months ago. It was a running a bit sluggish (felt like it had no balls compared to my 85) so I gave it a needed tune up, but the car started running worse. The car now has a rough idle and when its cold it chokes for gas. I ran the computer tests and it said the o2 sensor was shot (it said left and right at first, but only right after i cleared the codes.) I changed it but the car is still running rough.
I don't know where to go from here, I was thinking it might be the injectors but I'm pretty lost.

Clean the MAF, check out the IAC. This is probably a sensor issue. A dirty MAF will cause the computer to think there is less air going through then is actual, so it will use less fuel. Less fuel and more air will create a lean condition.

LOL dude the EEC pulls codes for a reason. Don't just clear'em and expect it to fix itself. The O2 sensor(s) might very-well be 'effed up. Try replacing both.. hell if that doesn't work, just clean'em off and take them right back and return'em. :nice:

If you have a low idle and have been throwing lean codes on both sides, you might have a vac leak.

I would really search for leaks. Then, as noted, pull codes again (be sure to clear codes after you do a repair or modification).

In the interim, you could try to band-aid the idle by playing with the mechanical throttle stop and the idle bleed screw.

Good luck.

Hisson50 told me to read my book..pcm tell all .record all codes first.dont clear yet. With out loosen pwr to pcm .cover your basics first fuses and battery volts ect....than follow proper diagnostic procedures in pintests....all codes combined together cross a path in the mix.note when the pcm is reset, you c lite go out.what u dont c is pcm goes into a drivecycle .(long story) 1 cycle is long lets say 1hr. It takes some codes up to 3drivecycles to setoff cel.a code that was repaired and not reset will be cleared by pcm after 40 hot restarts.
