About two weeks ago my stang started to make this squeeling noise under the hood,i thought it was the serpentine belt so i went and put a new on,still was doing this noise so ,i replaced both idler pullies ,still did it ,so while it was squeeling i turned one the air conditioner and it was still doing it ,turned the wheels so that eliminated the power steering pump, one thing i've noticed is that it only happens when i'm decelerating or i let my foot off the gas just a hair bit ,it won't do it when its in idle ,just wondering if any of you guys had this same problem????ITS ABOUT TO DRIVE ME FRIKKIN CRAZYYYY>        :SNSign:

So the tensioner may be bad, when i replaced the belt it took a little force to move the arm,but i don't know exactly how much tension supposed to be there,i may go pick one up,and try thatand see what happens.

I have the same problem. Have actually had this problem for about 3 months now and Ford said they don't know whats wrong so they can't fix it.... I find that odd, but maybe its just me, isn't that what a warranty is for??? I have replaced the belt, idler pulley, TOB, and cleaned my air filter and hose, thinking it could be an abstruction. One thing Ford did tell me is that they think it is my K&N air filter and they want me to buy a stock one and test it..

There are two kinds of belt squeal:

-squeals when you let off after going WOT, it is normal but can be minimized with a gator belt

-continual sqeal almost all the time, it is a pully hopefully an idler pully, replace both idlers first they are $14 at AutoZone, if it still does it could be alt or water pump

squeal

well i have already replaced both pullies and water pump,i'm begining to pull more toward a bad power steering pump because the pump and pully is seperate and the pump is causing a lag on the pully and the belt.

i might have the same problem.A squealing sound like the one you mentioned. And like kilgor said "Alternator". My problem is the back bearing thats inside the alt. Check yours, maybe you have the same problem. Its been going for a while now.I dont plan on replacing it since its not gonna harm anything , just the squeal that can drive people crazy. For me i can take it for now

Found source

Well gentelman i found thew source of the squealing,I put a set of 3:55's in my rear end about 4 weeks ago i must have not preloaded the the bearing and the crush gasket that well because the bearing is screaming on the pinion gear, the sound is echoing on the floorboard all the way to the front of the car,but hey thank you for the responces and the ideas you guy had.:SNSign:
